DIA DE
MUERTOS: DAY OF THE DEAD
Dia de
Muertos: Una Tradicion Orgullosamente Mexicana
During my
visit to the City of Morelia in Mexico I took part in the celebration of the Day
of the Dead. Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico between the end of October
and at the beginning of November. Mexicans pay visit to cemeteries, decorate
the graves and spend time at the graves. The belief behind Day of the Death is
that spirits return to the world of the living for one day of the year to be
with their families. Day of the Dead is celebrated in different locations
throughout Mexico. The spirits are greeted with offerings of special food that
they enjoyed when they were alive.
