VIDEO HOME SYSTEM(VHS) -VHS PLAYER WANTED!

The change in new technology within movie and television produductions is a challenge for movie collectors worldwide. We are facing a problem because we have collected many movies made on video and films which are out of date. New tapes and new types of films have been changed for time to time by the television companies and film producers. The stuation is not good at all because we do not have enough money to copy the collections from one format to another. This means that we have to be aware of the fact that viewing players for the different formats have to be bought and stored for future use.It is easy to make statements about preservation of your collections by demanding us to buy video players for viewing of the programmes transmitted by broadcasting companies. I made the mistake myself. Too many movies on vhs cassettes had been bought for my archive without having bought the players for the videos.

ALARM WAS MADE TO RETIRED NRK EMPLOYEES ABOUT THE ISSUE: VHS PLAYERS WANTED!

To my great surprise, the retired NRK producer, actor and author Andreas Diesen offered me a VHS player free of charge. While I was working for NRK, he was an active user of the television archive for his programmes about Norwegian revue actors. Andreas Diesen is an expert about the history of Norwegian revue theaters.

Some facts about the famous Norwegian television producer,    TV host, Andreas Diesen: He was born in 1945. From 1965 to 2015 he was working for Nrk dealing with light entertainment programmes. Revue theater became his main interest for many years. Besides he has worked as an actor in nine movies too.Books and song texts has he produced too.

Thank you Andreas for solving my private problem as a private movie collector who forgot the main issue: Take care of old video players for future viewing of the movies and documentaries. We cannot afford to copy all of the movies to dvd or on files only.We keep the original tapes for viewing.
