ARRECIFE: DOGAN - THE PIRATE WAS HERE TOO

Arrecife was visited last year. Old castles are sites interested to visit for any turist, I think. What do we learn about paying attention to old guns and cannos and castles set up to protect the people of the sites? If you are visiting Arrecife you have to take a look at the San Gabriel Castle located on the waterfront of the town. Pirates attacked the town in 1571. The pirate Dogan stold a lot from people in the town.
Old guns are set up to wake up those who do not think the pirates may return aiming at taking control of the financial institutions on the island. Be prepared!

The San Gabriel Castle was founded in 1593 as a defence against the pirates. The castle is open for public. The history exhibition has been divided up into sections, including maritine, military and heritage.

Puerto  de Arrecife was plagued by pirate attacks
thoughout the 17th and 18th centuries.
